12 Principles

Twelve Principles Series

EG’s works are immersed in a world of intimate and personal content. A relentless quest to imbue meaning into the universal language of form.

The aphorisms depicted, from Mario Rodriguez Cobos’ work “Silo’s Message”, are delivered in forms inspired by both Hindu yantras and the mnemonic seals of Giordano Bruno.

Each of the pieces from the “Twelve Principles” series is an idealised pictograph, a demonstration of the balance which we aspire towards as we navigate the distortions and pressures of everyday life. The works develop from a circle, a ring, into these demonstrations, redirected by the forces which orient our path towards a sought-after form.

However, the strength of these sculptures also lies in their imperfection: Granatelli seems to be looking for a poetry of irregularity. One that celebrates human frailty and the discoveries and journeys created by error.

In this way, his works offer a humanising gaze, an invitation to reflect in a non-judgmental way on personal experiences and paths towards growth.

With this current work, the artist generates form in an evocation of thought and reflection; the goal here is to find a harmony between structure and meaning. Each sculpture becomes an emanation point for an inner journey. An invitation to explore the depths of the human soul and embrace life’s complexity.
